Beginning November 16, 2009 Wild Iris Books open’s the doors to any board or card gamer who wants to wants to spice up their game of ‘Life’!
From 6:30pm till the Fat Lady sings (that’s me and it can be pretty late!) put on your ‘Poker’ face ‘cuz this is no ‘Candyland’! The competition will be fierce!
How all this got started is I am a Scrabble fuh-reak! So last week Spirit said, “Hey…fuh-reak…why don’t you contact the Gainesville Scrabble Club and see if they need a place to meet?”
To which I replied, “Wow Spirit. That’s totally random.”
But I did…’cause I learned last year (finally) to do what Spirit tells me to do.
And guess what?!
The timing was perfect!
Imagine that!
Spirit.
Right.
AGAIN!
They had only just found out they needed a new place to meet but didn’t know where to go!
And, now, Wild Iris Books will proudly host the award and many tournament-winning Gainesville Scrabble Club as they man their ‘Battleship’, take aim and fire on the ultimate triple word score!
THEN….
The infamous and much beloved Jenn Wester (if Gainesville were actually the Love Boat, Jenn would be Julie McCoy) wanted to start a game night but was all in a ‘Twister’ over where to have it!
Oy! The ‘Aggravation’ of trying to find just the right place!
After all, games are important and this was no ‘Trivial Pursuit’…not to mention which..Jenn’s no ‘Old Maid’ so we told her we would be thrilled to have her bring her
At ‘Risk’ of making one more bad pun…wait…I already did…oh well…

And…for all you ‘Hungry, Hungry Hippos’…The Wild Words Cafe will be open serving all your favorite beer, wine, coffee, tea and ‘Yahtzee’ Yummies.
