How to read Tarot Cards (part V): Do I have to be a Psychic to be a good Tarot Reader
The very short answer to this question is, yes.
In point of fact, everyone is naturally psychic. It’s how we’re hardwired.
Once upon a time, our ancestors’ very survival depended on nothing but their intuition and observational skills.
The ancestors must have been right most of the time because you’re reading this article.
So, then, how do you incorporate being psychic into your tarot readings?
As you learn how to read tarot cards you certainly (depending on the intricacy of the tarot cards deck you chose) can give solid and accurate tarot readings based solely on the imagery and symbolism in your deck.
This is one of the many reasons why choosing the right deck is important.
But, as certainly, there will come numerous times when you will have to make a “judgment call” in your tarot readings.
Just as one example, let’s say that you pull two Queen Cards in the same spread during a tarot reading for a woman.
Depending on the position of the card in the spread and the age of the woman
being read, that Queen Card could literally represent the woman or it could represent another female in that woman’s life (mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, co-worker, lover, etc).
Additionally, the second Queen Card could represent the same choices (mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, co-worker, lover, etc).
However, what if both Queen Cards were representative of different aspects of the woman, herself?
Maybe she is a twin, living two different lives or bi-polar, etc.
Conversely, if you’re reading a man, maybe the Queen Card signifies his wife, girlfriend, co-worker, etc.
But, what if the man is gay? Or, perhaps he desires to transgender.
Again, through the recognition of symbolism and layout of the tarot cards you can weave together very detailed tarot readings.
Via your intuition, by your being an open channel for Spirit (Source, God, The Goddess, etc.), and using the tarot cards as a blueprint by which to build your tarot readings you can go much deeper than the average tarot reader.
As you learn how to read tarot cards, spend a bit of time developing your psychic or intuitive skills.
There are some terrific sources out there for you to work with.
Colette Baron-Reid has a great psychic development CD set, Messages From Spirit.
One more thing to note; as with any divination process (tarot readings, psychic or medium readings, psychometry, use of pendulums, etc.) it is imperative you learn about energetic grounding and protection of your spirit.
One of the best sources on the internet for tarot cards, oracle cards and books on learning how to read tarot cards is our very own Wild Iris Market.
