You might be surprised how many people from all over the world seek to learn how to read tarot cards.
Tarot cards usage and a brief look at tarot cards history can be found in the article How to read Tarot Cards (Introduction): What are Tarot Cards.
Perhaps it is the secret desire to experiment with the mystic arts or maybe they view tarot cards as a game not to be taken seriously but for entertainment purposes only.
Of those who have the earnest desire to learn how to read tarot cards, the path to discovery can be a bit overwhelming as there are thousands of tarot cards decks to choose from. Along with those many choices also comes the “how to” advice and opinion on how to read tarot cards.
There is no one way to read tarot cards that is better or more right than the next.
This series of articles, How to read Tarot Cards, will explore many different tarot cards decks and offer tips and advice from a wide variety seasoned professional tarot cards readers as well as from instructional books and manuals.
The first thing that is important to know when you are beginning to learn how to read tarot cards is to take your time and choose the tarot cards deck whose artwork most speaks to you.
Look for colors, images and symbols that evoke a positive emotional reaction inside you.
Though there are tarot cards readers who use more than one type of deck in a reading, it is recommended you begin with one deck.
It takes a bit of time to, truly, become familiar with a deck and, conversely, have those same tarot cards become familiar with you.
What this means is, once you physically, mentally and emotionally touch an object (animal, vegetable or mineral), that object is imprinted with your electrical frequencies. It is now coded with “you”.
Likewise, as you learn the about the symbols used in your chosen tarot cards deck(s), you’ll be imprinted with the electrical frequencies of your tarot cards.
However, the coding does initially come from the cards (i.e. the paper itself). The coding (at first) comes from the symbols, colors and images on the tarot cards.
For more on why and how this cross coding works see How to read Tarot Cards (part VII): How to bond with your deck.
