Though we’re not really sure who would actually read a “Pricing Policies” page or even why they would read it; here’s why we wrote it.

Yes, we know you can get a cheaper price on some (not all) of the books we carry if you shop at the big corporate stores. Yes, we know they carry some titles we don’t.

Yup, we “get all that”. But, we also “get”…

Community

Because we believe in Community and all the word implies, Wild Iris will always be:

• A Living Wage Employer. We make sure our hired guns earn more than minimum wage.
• A Gallery for Local Artists (of all genres) to display and sell their works.
• A safe, peaceful and nurturing environment for all who wish to visit our store or website.
• Because we believe in Community, Wild Iris will always carry;  Many products that are Certified Fair Trade, Natural and Environmentally Friendly.

Finally, because we’re super cool like this, Wild Iris will price match any book we can (as long as we cover our costs).

Please know the gigantoid players can buy hot titles at a deep discount to use as a loss leader (items they stock knowing they’re going to loose money but they do it anyway so you’ll come in the store and maybe buy something else they’ll make a jillion percent profit on).

We ask that you treat this like a sliding scale policy. If you can afford to pay regular price, please do so. That will help us in continuing all the community minded services we’re involved in.
